ANNOUNCEMENTS
NOTICE
FYI: Concerning Funerals; Due to issues with funeral rosaries and for practical liturical reasons. We will be having, "Vigils for the Deceased", instead of Rosaries starting next week. Vigils for the deceased are liturgically correct and part of the funeral litergy. Where rosaries are encouraged but no t part of the funeral litergy. Families are encouraged to stay after the vigil and pray the rosary. If families desire to pray the rosary after the vigil or before the funeral it is the sole responsibility of the family not the parish. the priest will preside at the "Vigil for the deceased", but bot the rosary. This is liturgically correct and traditional.
PAX,
Fr. Jason Pettigrew
***NOTICE***
"Dear friends, by seeking holiness and using the gifts God has given us to accomplish his will in our lives, we are contributing mightily to that kingdom we all long for, where there will be no more crying or pain or death. Certainly, no abortion. No euthanasia. No assisted suicide. No deep freezing of embryos as though they were merchandise. And no destruction of human life in the name of science." --Cardinal Justin Rigali.
What The Church Teaches About: Abortion
From the Catechism…
“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person -- among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you” (Jer 1:5; cf Job 10:8-12; Ps 22:10-11). “My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately wrought in the depths of the earth” (Ps. 139:15). Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable.” -- Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 2270-2271
